A control panel your team can find their way around. And support that answers in hours, not days.
If a plan covers those, it will serve a brochure site, a portfolio or a small store well.
What to ignore
“Unlimited” anything. Every host has limits, and a small site never reaches them. Long lists of bundled extras you will never switch on. And, most of all, the first-year price on its own. Hosting is sold cheaply up front and renews at a higher rate, so compare the renewal price, not the headline.
Shared, cloud or VPS
Shared web hosting is right for most company sites and small stores. Cloud hosting makes sense when traffic grows or a WooCommerce store starts to feel slow at busy times. A VPS is for custom applications, and only when someone on your side knows how to look after a server. Start small. Moving up a tier is easy; paying for a tier you do not need is just waste.
Put the account in your name
Register the hosting and the domain to your company, with a company email address, and give your agency or developer their own access. Too many businesses find out, years later, that their website lives in a freelancer’s personal account.
